Heritage Rooted in Innovation

In the summer of 1939, as visitors marvelled at the fluorescent wonders of the New York World's Fair, one man's fascination with the lighting sparked a lighting legacy. William Littman began crafting his vision of the future one fixture at a time. 

Years later, after his business grew into new facilities in the Hudson River Valley, his grandson, David, began learning the lighting trade. From a young age, David absorbed lessons in craftsmanship on antique ‘treasure hunts’ alongside his mother.   

These cherished moments would later motivate the perfect balance of heritage and innovative style at David’s own lighting company — Hudson Valley Lighting. This company was founded in 1985 and David is still involved in its day-to-day operations and long-term vision.

The 2023 expansion of the Hudson Valley Lighting Group HQ emphasised the importance of nurturing design and creativity. The upgraded facility houses an inspiring state-of-the-art product design studio.
